Organization
The Boone County Fire District=s Wildland Fire Crew operates within the Fire District Field Operations Bureau and is managed by a Division Chief. Within Boone County, team members operate under the direction of the local incident commander. During mutual aid responses to assist area fire departments, crewmembers work under the direction of a squad or engine boss who typically reports to the incident commander. Crewmembers assigned to the out-of-state wildland fire crew are led by a crew boss and operate under a cooperative agreement with the Missouri Department of Conservation and the United States Forest Service.
Each summer, our wildland fire team is deployed to the western U.S. for forest fires.
