The Boone County Fire Protection District utilizes firefighters who live in the fire station to respond to emergencies. These volunteers have a room at the fire station and usually share a bathroom with other firefighters. There is a common dayroom and kitchen. Residents live in the station rent free and in return, spend their nights and free time providing standby at the station to allow for quicker responses to emergencies. This includes utilities, cable, satellite, internet, parking, etc. Please indicate if you are interested in living at one of our stations.
